News from Club Assembly...
Our meeting this past Tuesday was focused on club business, with a number of items brought forward for review and discussion. Of particular note:
  • The Financial Report for 2/1/23 through 6/30/24 was presented. We have $8,402 in our operating funds balance as of year-end, and $4,099 in our bingo fund balance. It was noted that bingo funds can only be used to benefit Cambridge-specific groups or charities.
  • Greg shared the 2024/2025 RI Goals, approved by the Board. The goals focus on enhancing participant engagement, increasing our impact, expanding our reach, and increasing our ability to adapt. The document can be accessed at the link below.
  • Our club donated $500 to support Rotary Preston-Hespeler in the purchase of an adaptive tricycle.
  • Jason and Dave provided an update on club projects. We will be volunteering at Bridges for two nights each quarter (with some planning done for the following week's volunteer list.) In addition, we are supporting RARE Reserve with operating the barbecue at their event the following weekend. Dave confirmed volunteer names at that time.
  • Rita and Nicole updated on admin functions for the club; they encouraged members to welcome guests when they join us, and shared some personal reflections on their own experiences at other clubs. Being a welcoming club goes far in attracting new members!
  • Anticipate several social events during the coming year (with another Christmas party at Milton's as something to look forward to!)
  • Finally: members were encouraged to give some thought to their own roles within the club over the next few years... it's important to be intentional about succession planning. Members are encouraged to talk with Greg or any of the officers and committee chairs about their roles/functions.
Welcome New Members!
Scott introduced our club's newest members, Narima W. and Jessica M.! Narima works with RBC Royal Bank and is a Certified Financial Planner. But she also has extensive volunteer board, communications, finance, and community/economic development experience.

Jessica is an IBI Therapist for individuals with special needs. Her skills include event planning, communications, and strategic planning, and her passions lie in maternal and child health, basic education, the environment, and diversity and inclusion.

Welcome aboard!
