Our Next Meeting.... Tuesday, July 23rd!

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, July 23rd at 6:30 p.m. District Governor Sohail Naseer will be our guest speaker.  This is his first visit to a Rotary club since becoming the DG on July 1st.  

Please make every effort to attend.  Not in town?  Then please ZOOM into the meeting. Rita can send you a link.   

And, we are inducting 2 new members to our club.  Let’s make them feel welcomed!

Laya Lasya Dance Studio's 20th Anniversary Fundraiser
Join us for Laya Lasya Dance Studio's 20th Anniversary Fundraiser Event, in support of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation. The event will take place at the McIntyre Performing Arts Centre on July 27th, 2024.
 
Prakash would like to extend an invitation with complimentary tickets to you and your family as fellow Rotarians to enjoy the show, together. We are expecting close to 1000 people, audience from over 20 cities, supporters exclusively visiting from 4 continents, 60 performers with 15 sponsors! We have several people confirmed to attend from our club. Please let Prakash know whether you can make it and also how many tickets you would require by our next meeting on July 23. This is complimentary and you only need to pay for parking to the college ( 6 dollars whole day in and out privileges) and nothing else.

Rotary in Review
Check out the July 12th Rotary in Review... A couple of items to highlight from this issue...
 
Shortly after the invasion of Ukraine, refugees began showing up at a Ukrainian church in Seminole, Florida. Terry Collier, a Seminole Rotary member, attended a vigil at the church and formed a task force with other local members to provide support. Through the nonprofit he founded, they have helped more than two dozen mothers and their children get access to food, jobs, clothing, housing, and transportation.... and,
 
Rotary clubs worldwide are tackling a growing global health concern – loneliness. It affects mental and physical well-being and can be caused by increased isolation like that experienced by many people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Rotary members are finding innovative ways to reconnect individuals with their communities and build stronger social bonds.

Time for First Quarter Dues!
Just the heads up that dues for first quarter are now payable. You should have received an account statement by email... if not or if you have any questions, please reach out to Elaine H. for more information. Dues are $210 for the first quarter, and can be paid by e-transfer to treasurer@rotarycambridgesunset.ca.
