From Our Last Meeting....
Captain Darren Woods and Major Danette Woods were our special guests at our August 27th meeting, talking about the important work that the Salvation Army - Cambridge Citadel does in our community. They provided some history about the organization - Salvation Army was first started in Canada in 1882, and the Galt branch opened just two years later. In 1950, their current location at Shade and Main Street opened and seventy years later, they continue to offer a range of community and family services to our community.

We were very happy to be able to support their school supplies drive with some very generous donations brought by the membership to our meeting!

We also confirmed that our meeting location will continue to be Galt Country Club. Quarterly dues will be $190 to cover cost of the room, and members will be able to purchase their own food off the menu, if desired.

Prakash provided an update on district activities, including an opportunity for clubs to sponsor a project that will receive matching funds from the district (minimum $1000, maximum $2000 matching.)
Bridges Volunteers Needed!
Jason provided an update on our next round of Bridges volunteer opportunities next month. We will be serving dinner on September 16 and 17, and will need volunteers for both evenings. It's just a couple of hours of our time, starting at 4 p.m. - so check your calendar and let Jason know if you are able to assist!
