Recap of This Week's Meeting - May 14/23
We had a great meeting this past Tuesday evening at the Galt Country Club! There were a number of business and community event items highlighted that are noted below. But the highlight of the evening was our guest speaker, Dean Fitzgerald, Ph.D. , an environmental consultant since the 1990s and president of the Rotary Club of Cambridge North. Dean spoke about tree ecology and planting in Ontario, including the value that trees bring to our communities, considerations in selection, and ways to procure them for community projects. It was an important reminder of our shared responsibility to care for our environment - for our generation, and the seven generations that follow!

Our next meeting will be held on May 28th, and will feature Wayne Paddock, Executive Director of the Cambridge Shelter Corporation. We invite you to come check us out - just connect with us for more information!

Bingo! And Cambridge Rotary Sunset...
From Jason and Nicole Fitzpatrick...  We have been approved to participate in charitable gaming at the Cambridge Bingo and Gaming Centre! This is a great opportunity for our club to raise funds that we can give back to our community. We have the potential to raise $30,000 per year. We need a small commitment from everyone. The shifts around 2 hours each and vary between day, afternoon, evening and weekend shifts. We are hoping to do 2 shifts per month but are able to do more if we have the volunteers.

Before you can volunteer, you must complete the required training. We are asking for everyone's support in picking up a shift or two for bingo, and completing the training as soon as possible so that we have a pool of volunteers to choose from. Please click on the link below to get trained.

We have been provided a schedule and need to fill dates quickly. If you are already trained (or once you have completed the training) please reach out to me with your availability. We need 2 Rotarians per shift.

If you sign up for a shift and are unable to make it YOU ARE REQUIRED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT. Please do not "no show" or be late for your shift as we will be deducted money. We hope we can count on everyone's support!
Looking Ahead to our Last  Meeting of the Year
We are planning for our last meeting of the year on June 25, 2024 - our own club changeover! We will celebrate with a Hawaiian theme - please save the date... more details to come!
